# Public Transit — Agglobus (Bénac)

[**Agglobus**](https://lagglobus.fr/reserver-son-transport-a-la-demande/) is the public transit network of the **Communauté d'Agglomération du Pays Foix-Varilhes** (42 communes, operated by Keolis). It covers 4 regular lines around Foix/Varilhes plus a zonal on-demand service.

> [!important] No regular bus stops in Bénac
> Bénac is served **only** by the **Transport à la Demande (TAD), zone Sud**. You must reserve the day before. The nearest regular-line stop is **Saint-Pierre-de-Rivière** (~3–4 km away) on **Ligne 3** to Foix Parvis.

## Transport à la Demande (TAD) — the service Bénac uses

Bénac is in **zone TAD Sud (violette)** along with Foix, Saint-Pierre-de-Rivière, Ganac, Brassac, and 18 other rural communes.

### How to book

> - **Phone:** **05 32 74 18 15** — Mon–Fri, 9h–12h and 14h–18h

>
> Times can shift slightly depending on the day's bookings ("*susceptibles d'être modifiés selon le nombre de réservation*").

> If you need to travel those days, drive/cycle to **Saint-Pierre-de-Rivière** for Ligne 3, or to **Varilhes** for Ligne 1.

You can mix slots — e.g. depart 8h30, return 17h30.

### Tarif

Same as the regular network — **1 € le voyage**, no surcharge for TAD. Buy onboard or in advance (see [Fares](#fares--tickets)).

## Regular lines — via Saint-Pierre-de-Rivière

Saint-Pierre-de-Rivière is the closest regular stop to Bénac (~3–4 km along D17). **Ligne 3** runs Mon–Sat, no Sundays or jours fériés.

### Ligne 3 — St-Pierre → Foix Parvis → Ferrières

**Mon–Fri, direction Foix (departures from Saint-Pierre Stade):**

(There are additional Cardié-origin runs at 10:43, 13:46, 15:49, 17:13 Foix Parvis arrivals — they don't pass St-Pierre Stade.)

**Mon–Fri, return Foix → St-Pierre:** Foix Parvis departures at 7:14, 8:14, 9:14, 11:11, 12:14, 14:19, 17:44, 18:42 → arrivals at St-Pierre Stade ~10 min later.

**Samedi, St-Pierre → Foix Parvis:** 8:30→8:44, 10:15→10:29, 12:10→12:24, 14:05→14:19, 16:10→16:24, 17:30→17:44.

### Ligne 1 — Varilhes ↔ Foix (the SNCF connector)

> Ligne 1 is **free between Gare Marchandises and Foix Parvis** (no ticket needed for that stretch).

### Lignes 2 & 4 (urban Foix / east)

## Connections beyond Agglobus

### SNCF (Foix gare)

Agglobus Ligne 1 connects to the **Toulouse ↔ Foix ↔ Latour-de-Carol** TER line at **Varilhes Gare** and **Foix Gare Semard**. Schedules: [ter.sncf.com/occitanie](https://www.ter.sncf.com/occitanie). ### liO regional buses

## Onboard rules

From the [Règles d'usage du réseau](https://lagglobus.fr/regles-dusages-du-reseau/):
- **Bikes are not allowed** on board
- Animals only in a carrier (*panier*)
- Strollers OK but fold them when busy
- Non-smoking (including e-cigarettes)
- **Board at the front, exit at the rear**
- Wave to signal a stop request

> Wheelchair / low-floor access is **not documented** on the Agglobus website. Call **05 32 74 18 15** before traveling if you need to confirm.

## Bénac-specific cheat sheet

- **Plan around Tue/Wed/Fri/Sat** for TAD Sud. Wednesday and Saturday are typical Foix market days.
- **Reserve by 17h the day before.** No same-day TAD.
- **Mon/Thu:** drive/cycle to **St-Pierre-de-Rivière** for Ligne 3 (closest stop, last weekday return 18h42 from Foix Parvis).
- **Closest ticket vendor:** **Proxi Saint-Pierre-de-Rivière** (also has a mailbox — see [[supplies|Supplies]]).
- **Anyone under 26 in your household:** the annual pass is **free**.
- **Real-time bus tracking:** install **Zenbus** before traveling.
